Second Sight have announced a brand new Blu-ray release of Flight of the Navigator taken from a new 4K restoration. Due for release on 26th August, the new edition features a new interview with Joey Cramer alongside a raft of other fantastic features. It’s 1978 and 12-year-old David Freeman (Cramer) is mysteriously knocked unconscious while out playing. He wakes up and heads for home only to find strangers living there. It’s now 1986 and he’s been missing for eight years. Continue here

The Body is one of Stephen King’s tamer works of fiction and, as such, the film adaptation, Stand By Me (directed by Rob Reiner and released in 1986) can hardly be considered horror. Still, there’s no denying that the film struck a chord with genre fans who came of age in the 1980s, and stories of adolescents in turmoil are common from King. Continue here

More Blu-rays are on the way from Arrow Films. Pre-orders are now available for several upcoming Blu-ray releases from Arrow Films, including titles from directors like Kathryn Bigelow and John Hughes. Here’s a rundown of Arrow Films’ July 2019 collection of Blu-rays from the company’s various labels:

July 23 – John Hughes’ Weird Science (Special Edition)
starring Anthony Michael Hall, Ilan Mitchell-Smith, and Kelly LeBrock. The disc will feature a new restoration by Arrow Films from a 4K scan of the original negative. In addition, a Limited Edition SteelBook will also be available. Supplements will include:
Edited-for-TV version of the film (SD only, 95 mins), plus comparison featurette highlighting the alternate dubs and takes
Option to watch additional scenes from the Extended Version separately
Newly-filmed interview with special makeup creator Craig Reardon

The good news is, your date is here. The bad news is, he’s dead–and Scream Factory’s Collector’s Edition reissue of Night of the Creeps has been bumped back a month. Originally slated to hit online and brick and mortar retailers beginning May 28th, fans of Fred Dekker’s seminal horror classic must now wait until June 25th. We’re all in for a most frightening Blu-ray! A few years back, fans of 1980s era horror and documentaries were treated to You’re So Cool Brewster: The Story of Fright Night. It was a definitive retrospective filled with over three hours of interviews, rare footage, and revelations. If you didn’t pick it up back in 2016, you can now add You’re So Cool Brewster to your collection as a special feature in Sony’s upcoming Blu-ray release of Fright Night. Read More here
