It has been 25 years since Sean Astin graced the silver screen atop the shoulders of his fellow football teammates as they erupted in chants of “Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!” in the climax of the aptly titled, Rudy. The film was based on the inspirational true story of Rudy Ruettiger and ET was recently on hand for the big reunion between Astin and his real-life counterpart! “This is Sean Astin, by the way. The real Sean Astin!” Ruettiger excitedly told ET cameras upon reuniting with Astin backstage at CineConcerts’ 25th-anniversary celebration, Rudy in Concert. Read More here

Sean Astin will be making a very special guest appearance on the hit NBC series Brooklyn Nine-Nine on April 25th. Astin was one of the many vocal supporters of the show after it was cancelled by FOX back in May of last year. Lin-Manuel Miranda, another supporter of the series’ continuation following their cancellation, recently had his own guest spot on the show as well playing Amy Santiago’s brother, David. Netflix has set a given an April 15 premiere date for No Good Nick, a multi-camera comedy headlined by Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin. The series got a 20-episode order in September. Read More here

Several stars from the 80’s classic, ‘The Goonies,’ will attend Orlando’s MegaCon convention in 2019. The convention made the announcement on Wednesday via Facebook. They said that Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, and Ke Huy Quan will be in attendance. Read More here

The Big Bang Theory’s currently airing season 12 – its final season – casts Stranger Things’ Sean Astin and Designated Survivor’s Kal Penn. After over a decade on the air, CBS’ comedy juggernaut The Big Bang Theory will air its final episode in spring 2019. For a time, it appeared that the network would end up renewing the Chuck Lorre-created sitcom for two more seasons, but that didn’t come to pass, reportedly due to star Jim Parsons being unwilling to return as breakout character Sheldon Cooper.
