With hundreds of broadcast TV channels, plus dozens more streaming services, it’s hard to fathom that some television shows are still slipping through the cracks. But believe it or not, some brilliant series airing in the US right now are currently lacking a home in the United Kingdom. These are the small-screen gems still without a UK home – fingers crossed there’s a deal being thrashed out right now to bring them this side of the Atlantic.

7. Yellowstone
Did you know that Kevin Costner became the latest movie legend to take the leap to the small screen with the Paramount Network’s Yellowstone? Well, he did. Written and directed by Sicario’s Taylor Sheridan, the series – about an ailing ranch owner (Costner) caught up in local conflicts, who must defend his land from those seeking to take it from him – was a ratings hit in the US and has already been renewed for a second season. It’s larger-than-life and not to be taken at all seriously, but a top-notch cast – Costner, Kelly Reilly, Danny Huston – hold it all together. No sign of the show making it to the UK, though

Sony Pictures Classic has confirmed Deadline’s previous scoop on the multiple territories deal for Stan & Ollie, the Laurel and Hardy drama.

The film has been designated as the closing night film of the 62nd BFI London Film Festival on October 21; with SPC planning a theatrical release qualifying the film for 2018 Awards consideration bolstered by the performances of Coogan and Reilly. The film will be released in the U.K. on January 11, 2019.

The BFI London Film Festival has set Laurel and Hardy biopic “Stan & Ollie” as its closing night gala. The film, which stars Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly as the iconic comedy duo, will receive its world premiere Oct. 21 at the 62nd edition of the festival. “Stan & Ollie” tells the true story of the legendary double act, focusing on their journey around Britain and Ireland in what would become the pair’s triumphant farewell tour. Despite the pressure of a hectic schedule, the pair’s love of performing, as well as love for each other and support from their wives, endures as they secure their place in the hearts of their fans. Shirley Henderson and Nina Arianda co-star as Lucille Hardy and Ida Laurel, respectively, while Danny Huston plays comedy film pioneer Hal Roach. Read More here
