Now that we’re getting into the final few weeks before the ceremony, it’s time to acknowledge that there’s a very real danger of Ethan Hawke’s Protestant pastor drama First Reformed being absolutely robbed blind at the Oscars. It’s unfair, yes, but it might very well happen. Breathe. Try not to let your frustration overwhelm you. Instead, focus on the fact that Paul Schrader, who wrote and directed First Reformed – and wrote Taxi Driver and Raging Bull for Martin Scorsese too – has confirmed that he’s working on another big project with the actor.
