The New York-based jewelry company David Yurman has announced a partnership with Academy Award winner Geena Davis to executive produce a documentary that addresses unconscious gender bias in the entertainment industry. A cast of stars including Davis, Shonda Rhimes, Jessica Chastain, Zoe Saldana, Judd Apatow, Yara Shahidi, Paul Feig, Chloe Grace Moretz, Gillian Anderson, Sharon Stone, Alan Alda and Lena Dunham contribute personal anecdotes on the subject. Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. rights to Don’t Talk To Irene, the comedy that bowed at last year’s Toronto Film Festival. The coming-of-age pic, written and directed by Pat Mills, stars Geena Davis, Anastasia Phillips, Scott Thompson and newcomer Michelle McLeod. A March 2 day-and-date release is planned. These partners in crime were back in the driver’s seat! Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon took the stage on Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California, and couldn’t help but reminisce about how things haven’t changed for women since Thelma & Louise hit theaters in 1991. Davis, 61, smiled as she excitedly told Sarandon, 71, “Susan, they love that we fixed everything,” referring to the crowd’s applause as they prepared to announce the winner for best actor in a motion picture.
