Jules   April 14, 2018   Comments Off on CLASS Act banquet still on for Saturday; auction items include ‘Fixer Upper’ trip to Waco, Texas Auction

The Kearney Public Schools Foundation will host its 13th annual CLASS Act banquet Saturday. As of Thursday, administrator Kasey Parr said they’ve had roughly 470 people RSVP, meaning the venue at the Younes Conference Center, 416 Talmadge Road, is “pretty booked up.” However, even with an almost full house, they won’t turn anyone away. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction. Dinner begins at 7.

One of the “marquee” items up for live auction is a “Magnolia Magic” trip to Waco, Texas, which is the home of the couple from HGTV’s popular home renovation show “Fixer Upper.” The trip includes a two-night stay at Hillcrest Estates, a house renovated by Chip and Joanna Gaines, and money for travel and shopping at the Magnolia Market. Other live auction items include an autographed Peyton Manning Broncos jersey, a “glamping” trip in Nehawka, Nebraska, and an autographed “The Blacklist” poster and hat worn by James Spader.
