He was the supremely confident lawyer Alan Shore in both “The Practice” and “Boston Legal.” He cornered the market on arrogance as wealthy high-schooler Steff in “Pretty in Pink” and as young advertising exec Ken who shoves Diane Keaton out of her corner office in “Baby Boom.” As Ultron in the next “The Avengers” film, he plays a supervillian who wants to take over the world. With an already star-studded cast, Avengers: Age of Ultron is welcoming in Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch in the upcoming blockbuster. As if James Spader being cast as Ultron wasn’t enough. Olsen is known for for her harrowing performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene and the less impressive Silent House (although she was great in it) and now joins the ranks of Samuel L. “The Voice” and “The Blacklist” generated the night’s #1 and #2 ratings on the Big 4 networks. NBC won the night among ABC, CBS, NBC & Fox in all key categories for a third week in a row, winning six of six half-hours in 18-49 among those nets, also for a third week in a row (while also leading six of six in total viewers last night).
