It started out as a joke. Matt McKelvey, a tattoo artist at Artisan Tattoo in Garfield, thought it would be funny to host a Jeff Goldblum Day at the shop, with ink specials, merchandise, trivia and other activities honoring the actor. Goldblum, like beloved local boy Michael Keaton, happens to be a Pittsburgher. Manager Shauna Burd agreed and created a Facebook event for the occasion. Read More here

In 68 markets, the JA Bayona-helmed sequel grossed $56.1M this weekend to take the overseas cume to $667.6M. That lifts the global gobble to $932.4M with the $1B milestone in stomping distance. Jeff Goldblum is set to record his first jazz album after having signed up with Decca Records Label Group, Decca announced Wednesday. The actor’s jazz piano skills caught the attention of Decca executives after he accompanied soul-jazz singer Gregory Porter on a rendition of Nat King Cole’s “Mona Lisa” on BBC talk show “The Graham Norton Show” last October while promoting “Thor: Ragnarok.” Read More here

Jeff Goldblum is joining Michael Sheen and Michelle Monaghan in writer-director Peter Glanz’s comedy-drama “The Price of Admission.” Producers are Neda Armian of Armian Pictures, Alex Foster, and Glanz. It has been five years since Elysium, the last time Jodie Foster headlined a movie on camera, and for her return she has chosen another futuristic tale, Hotel Artemis — a rather odd duck of a project. In this dystopian crime thriller, she is considerably aged up and known only as The Nurse, a take-all-prisoners woman who for 22 years has run the Hotel Artemis, an Art Deco-looking building in 2028 Los Angeles whose penthouse serves as an emergency hospital for criminals who are “members.” Getting into the Hotel Artemis is harder than entering CIA headquarters, and you have to have a special microchip in your arm to pass through the tightly secured building. It is a very exclusive club indeed, and Foster’s Nurse doesn’t allow exceptions or rules to be broken. Read More here
