Variety and PBS SoCal KOCE have announced the lineup for the eighth season of “Variety Studio: Actors on Actors.” The Emmy Award-winning series will air in two episodes on PBS SoCal KOCE, the first on Tuesday, June 19 at 7 p.m. and the second on Thursday, June 21 at 7 p.m. Both episodes will stream on pbssocal.org following their premieres.
This year’s lineup of pairings includes: Issa Rae (“Insecure”) with Michael B. Simmons (“Counterpart”) with Edie Falco (“Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders”); Alison Brie (“GLOW”) with Jessica Biel (“The Sinner”); Maggie Gyllenhaal (“The Deuce”) with Jonathan Groff (“Mindhunter”); Frankie Shaw (“SMILF”) with Sara Gilbert (“Roseanne”); Jeff Daniels (“The Looming Tower”) with Laura Linney (“Ozark”); Darren Criss (“American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace”) with Mandy Moore (“This is Us”); David Harbour (“Stranger Things”) with Kyle MacLachlan (“Twin Peaks”); and Dakota Fanning (“The Alienist”) with Freddie Highmore (“The Good Doctor”). HBO has announced that drama-mystery The Tale, starring Oscar nominee Laura Dern (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Big Little Lies), will debut on Saturday, May 26 at 10:00 pm ET/PT. You can check out the new images from the HBO Films movie in the gallery below! The Tale follows Jennifer (Dern) as she faces life-altering questions when a short story she wrote for school at age 13 forces her to re-examine her first sexual relationship — and the stories we tell ourselves in order to survive. Golden Globe winner, philanthropist and children’s book author Jamie Lee Curtis is heading to Lowell this summer for the 20th annual Middlesex Community College Celebrity Forum. The annual event presenting well-known personalities for the educational and cultural enrichment of area residents will take place at 8 p.m. on June 8 at Lowell Memorial Auditorium (LMA), 50 E. Merrimack St., Lowell, according to a release. Tickets to “An Evening with Jamie Lee Curtis” are $29, $39, and $49, and will go on sale Friday. Read More here

There was always something enigmatic and ethereal about Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, but it turns out — something more was at work.
