Inside The Beverly Hills Hotel’s Legendary Marilyn Monroe Bungalow

A Chanel No.5 perfume bar and bathroom products, a library stocked with books and films including Some Like It Hot and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and a Dom Perignon bubble bath. Guests in the newly renovated Bungalow 1A at The Beverly Hills Hotel will be following in iconic footsteps, as it has been designed to pay homage to Marilyn Monroe, who favoured the bungalow during her weeks-long stays at the hotel. It is one of five “legendary” bungalows that the hotel is opening this year, inspired by a few of its most famous former residents – Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Howard Hughes and Charlie Chaplin. Rare candid photos of Marilyn Monroe feature in new exhibition at Galerie Prints

A series of “candid” photographs of Marilyn Monroe are on show in a new exhibition. They were taken by US photographer Ed Feingersh, who spent a week with the star in March 1955. From his very first collection, which came to be known as the “New Look,” Christian Dior’s impact on the world of fashion was undeniable. In fact, Dior moved at such warp speed that just under a decade after he launched his eponymous label, in 1948, he’d already named his successor: one Yves Saint Laurent, who, at age 21, embarked on his own star turn of a decade. These days, Dior is of course still going strong, and of this February, the first two decades will be the star of a new exhibition at Proud Central gallery in London, on view through April 7. Montgomery Clift would’ve celebrated his 98th birthday on October 17, 2018. The iconic actor gave only a small number of onscreen performances before his untimely death in 1966 at the age of 45. Yet several of those titles remain classics. In honor of his birthday, let’s take a look back at 12 of his greatest films, ranked worst to best.

7. THE MISFITS (1961)
John Huston’s “The Misfits” occupies a sad place in cinema history: Clark Gable died before the it’s release, Marilyn Monroe shortly thereafter, while Clift would make only three more movies before his own untimely demise in 1966. Written by Monroe’s then-husband, Arthur Miller, it revolves around a beautiful divorcee (Monroe) in love with a past-his-prime cowboy (Gable) who, along with his partners (Clift and Eli Wallach), grinds up “misfit” horses into dog food.
