Spoilers ahead for DC’s underwater adventure.
DC’s live-action universe has had a fascinating life in theaters, full of peaks and valleys. While hope seemed lost in the wake of Justice League, Warner Bros. had turned it around quickly, with a ton of exciting releases coming down the pipeline. James Wan’s Aquaman proved how great the DCEU could be, providing the first critical hit since Wonder Woman. A spinoff and sequel are already being worked on, although we’ll have to wait a number of years before the latter project arrives in theaters in December of 2022. Read More here

By the end of James Wan’s live-action Aquaman film, Orm/Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson) was arrested by his half-brother, the new king of Atlantis, Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa). Arthur said that they could have a heart-to-heart whenever Orm was ready and the villain was then hauled away, presumably to a jail cell beneath the waves. Read More here

Aquaman fans can get ready to immerse themselves in the world of the King of the Seven Seas with the all-new exhibit opening to the public on March 5, 2019. Warner Bros. Joining the immensely popular Wonder Woman exhibit, guests of the Studio Tour can relive the iconic scenes straight from the set of DC’s latest action-packed origin story, bringing them closer than ever to the entertainment they love. In a resurfaced clip, Aquaman’s King Orm – Patrick Wilson – performs as Queen singer Freddie Mercury, leading to the desire for an Atlantean musical. Wilson has been acting in major movies for a long time now, but with Aquaman hauling in over $1 billion worldwide, it’s likely that his role within the latest DCEU movie is Wilson’s most visible to date. To that end, Orm has quickly amassed his own fanbase, with many pointing out that his beefs against the surface world are perfectly valid, even if a murderous response isn’t justified. Warner Bros. has taken a definitive step toward an “Aquaman” sequel, hiring David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to write the script. “Aquaman 2” will be produced by “Aquaman” director James Wan and Peter Safran. “Aquaman” has over-performed for Warner Bros., coming in above pre-release projections after starting with $68.7 million in its opening weekend in North America. The title gained momentum in subsequent weeks and has hit $328 million in North America and $784 million internationally, led by nearly $300 million in China. It’s currently the 21st-highest worldwide grosser of all time. Read More here

Director James Wan had to craft a lavish underwater world primarily out of visual effects, so it’s no wonder that the before and after shots are so dramatic in this Aquaman VFX reel. On the heels of Aquaman‘s splashy box office success, Warner Bros. has released a video that shows the painstaking work that went into building the expansive underwater world of Atlantis, and all those flow-y hair shots.
