Things are going swimmingly at the box office for “Aquaman” as the Warner Bros.’ superhero flick hits another major milestone overseas. James Wan’s take on the ruler of the seven seas just passed $250 million internationally, and a weekend haul of $126.4 million from 43 territories brings its foreign tally to $261.3 million. “Aquaman” — starring Jason Momoa — opens in the U.S. on Dec. 21. Despite existing in two very different genres, Patrick Wilson, who stars as Arthur Curry’s half-brother King Orm in Aquaman, compared the fish-out-of-water DC movie to two of director James Wan’s previous franchises: The Conjuring and Insidious. This will be the third film franchise that Wilson has worked on with Wan, and the actor was able to pinpoint a distinct through line connecting all three. Read More here

Even the most staunch of DC fans would have to concede that Marvel have been leading the way in the genre of late, establishing a tone that has entertained audiences worldwide for a number of years. But after Wonder Woman, it gave hope that DC were set to compete yet again, and now Aquaman is further proof that films from this particular universe have a place in a contemporary cinematic landscape. It was our pleasure to sit down and interview Aquaman director James Wan, as well as stars Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson, to discuss this hugely enjoyable blockbuster.
