There have been all sorts of magical weaponry, cool powers and memorable superheroes in the last decade of Marvel movies. But it’s six mythical gems and one obsessive cosmic villain that tie everything together. Avengers: Infinity War (in theaters April 27) boasts more good guys than have ever been in a Marvel Cinematic Universe project before, and they’re all going to have to be at their best to beat Thanos (Josh Brolin), a dude wielding a legendary metal glove called the Infinity Gauntlet that holds the all-powerful Infinity Stones: Space, Power, Reality, Time, Mind and Soul. We get it, that’s a lot to take in, especially if the only cool glove you’ve ever known is Michael Jackson’s silver number and all you’ve seen of this massive narrative is Black Panther. Here’s what you need to know about the Avengers’ biggest baddie to date and those six twinkly baubles he’s hunting. Read More here

Part of what has kept the MCU going from strength to strength is the studio’s willingness to keep things fresh and give each movie a different energy. Sure, fans will pick up on similar character arcs or all those villains that possess mirrored versions of the heroes’ powers, but on the whole the tactic works. Just look at how poles apart, say, Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Panther are. Read More here

One of those people fans are is Robert Downry Jr. as Tony Stark. Anthony and Joe Russo both spoke to Hindustan Times about Downey Jr’s place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Read More here

At the present moment, Tony Downey Jr/Robert Stark – hell, aren’t they basically the same person now? – is about to launch a charm offensive around the world as Avengers: Infinity War gets set to conquer the world in a box-office blitz that might even shock Thanos. On that note, it has been 10 years since Jon Favreau kicked-off the MCU by introducing us to Iron Man and while playing a superhero has reignited his career, it’s not the film that we’re going to discuss to celebrate his roguish talent. “Avengers: Infinity War” is ready to turbo-charge the box office. The every-hero-but-the-kitchen-sink Marvel adventure is on pace to open to a massive $175 million to $200 million when it premieres on April 27. If it hits those numbers, it will be in some rarefied company. Only seven other films in history have topped $175 million in their debuts and only five have hit the $200 million mark.
