Before he became synonymous with playing playboy millionaire rascal Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr. was…a playboy millionaire rascal, but with an Oscar nomination! Born into minor Hollywood royalty, Downey spent his formative ’80s career as a Brat Pack honorary in films like Weird Science and The Pick-Up Artist. An Oscar nomination for playing the titular silent-era legend in Chaplin suggested a watershed moment for Downey and his future career. Read More here

Robert Downey Jr.’s The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle brought Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle director Jonathan Liebesman on board to handle some reshoots. The movie has been pushed back a few times now and was originally set to come out this month. However, there have been some changes behind-the-scenes in order to get the look and feel just right. Liebesman was brought on board, but he worked closely with original director Stephen Gaghan, who was on set the whole time during the 21 days of additional shooting. Read More here

Avengers: Endgame presales in China have skyrocketed to record heights within the first few hours. According to Maoyan Box Office System, Endgame sold over 1 million tickets in the first six hours after they went on sale Friday local time. This is a record for all movies in the Middle Kingdom; not even a Chinese New Year title has crossed the 1M admission level in the same amount of time. Read More here

Already having broken pre-sale ticket records, Avengers: Endgame has smashed through another milestone before it squashes all box office benchmarks starting Thursday, April 25: The Anthony and Joe Russo-directed feature is far and away the biggest marketing promotional campaign in Marvel Studios history at well over an estimated $200M.
